ABOUT US

Surrounded by rolling hills and lush green fields, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, is the Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital, Ranchi, now called Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital, (A Unit of METAS Group of Institutions). The Institution was started  in 1923 by a dedicated missionary Dr. R. V. Shearer. He was given an old run down mission school building which he was asked to convert into a Hospital. He started the work by opening a small dispensary with his own money. With the help of friends from the United States and the United Kingdom, he was able to collect sufficient funds and second hand equipment to set up the hospital. Initially, he had only one Nurse and an Auxiliary Staff to help him. Sabbath Services and worships were conducted on the hospital veranda. In 1974, the much needed expansion of the hospital building was started. However, due to the lack of funds, the completion of the building of the present hospital was possible only in 1982 and after this the hospital grew to become one of the leading and renowned hospitals in Ranchi, Bihar and the surrounding states. It was well known as "DUBKI MISSION HOSPITAL", because of the doctrine of baptism by immersion practiced by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. On December 26, 2006, the Southern Asia Division handed over the Ranchi Campus to Dr. M. S. Jeremiah, the President and C.E.O. of METAS for the purspose of developing the campus. Since 2015 the President and C.E.O. of METAS is Dr. Eliah Srikakolli and he is continuing the development of the METAS Group of Institutions at Ranchi.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
SRIKAKOLLI ELIAH, PhD

Metas Adventist Hospital (formally known as Mission Hospital) is a part of the Seventh Day Adventists organization with more than 175 hospitals worldwide with its presence in 215 countries. It has its presence established in Surat city since 1923. It started as a humble dispensary at Udhna with the basic amenities for healthcare. Now, as we enter the centennial decade, and look back on its rich history and odyssey, one can afrmatively echo that the hospital has evolved from a Primary Healthcare facility to the city's most preferred Super Specialty Hospital. Having a wide spectrum of super-specialty disciplines, round-theclock doctors, state-of-the-art facilities, the hospital is a one-stop destination for availing treatment from simple discomfort to complex life-saving surgeries and procedures.

I am proud that the hospital is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). It is an assurance of quality in the care given by the healthcare fraternity.
